Northern Kentucky Wedding at the Madison South, Michael & Julie

Julie’s loveable sweetness was most evident while surrounded by her closest friends and family on her wedding day.  Her brilliant smile is contagious and made everyone around her smile with her.  Michael is a thoughtful, artistic, guitar playing easygoing man who looks at Julie with deep loving eyes.  When things get stressful for them, the best place for them to be is side by side. This was evident during the first-look…after a long day of getting ready and attending to last minute planning, they saw each other and moods lifted.   Julie grabbed his hand and his heart steadied.  Michael pulled her close and her mind settled.  The best part is that when they set each other free they become the best part of themselves.

One of the best parts of the celebration was when Michael wrote words for Julie and put it to music. He used his guitar to serenade his new bride Julie with a harmonious composition on their extra special day. It was a surprise for her and she absolutely loved it.  The happiness & the melody caught a hold of everyone lucky enough to be in the room.  Another special thing that happened was when the Best Men (that is right: plural) and Maid of Honor stood on the dance floor and spoke about what they love about Julie & Michael separately and together.  Two people who are destined to go the long haul.  And I am grateful for love like that in the world.  When you start with a love like that and support each other along the way, the rest just falls into place.

Married: Julie + Michael.  Let your love for each other always be the soft place that you land.  Thank you for allowing us to capture your love in its purest form. You pulled it off with all the beauty, sweet details, and heart that only two people holding on tight together and choosing to make a leap together can do.

Special thanks goes out to Chris  for being my wing-man that day!  It helps so much that you foster my creative ideas to the point where you help them happen, help to create great light for the images when there is none naturally, and keep equipment gathered up so I do not end up leaving a trail behind me.  During all this collaboration you still end up taking some pretty pictures:)

Reading Ohio Wedding, Katharine & Shawn

Katie is the bubbly to Shawn’s champagne.  Her enormous smile complete with adorable dimples, ready hugs, speckles of freckles, and animated personality melt your heart like cool lemonade on a late summer’s day.  Cool and sweet.  Shawn is thoughtful and chill with dashing blue eyes.  He reserves his emotions inside but it does not take long to realize that in the rhythm of his kind, easy going nature that his sincere heart is beating with the moments.

Married: Katharine + Shawn: There are no words for how much I love your love and how unbelievably honored we were that you allowed us to document your day and your love.  I appreciate the trust that you had in us to tell your story for the people who were not there and to preserve history for the people who were there to witness your leap.  My hope for you two is that fifty years from now when you’re old and wrinkled, you will have some of the same people that you leaned on for love and encouragement on this big day still there with you supporting you while you are still making big leaps together.

The church that is surrounded in the upbeat Reading, OH Bridal District has supported Katherine’s family with faith, love, and history was the spot chosen for their ceremony with Pastor Reverend Torie Front.  Her family has attended St. John United Church of Christ since her Great-Great-Grandparents along with her Great-Grandparents helped to build it themselves in 1905.  Katherine’s Mom & Dad and Brother & Sister in Law were also married there.  The church and special people in it surrounded the couple with warmth, love, color, and beautiful light for their lovely Spring ceremony.  It was the space where family, memories, heritage, and belief intersect to create the perfect place for them to exchange vows together.

Harley Class of 2012 { Clinton Massie High School Senior Photos }

Spring is in bloom and we picked a wonderfully warm Spring day to squeeze in photos to commemorate Harley’s final year in High School.   Here are a few of my favorites from this funny Senior who is full of personality.  Good luck to him in his college endeavors.

alyssa and brett in the Cincinnati snowflakes

Alyssa and Brett’s first kiss was under the expressways and then we were over the road where we found a warm tunnel. Out past the tracks and railcars these gravel lines were cool at the same time it was soooo cold outside we could see breath. We took a drive in the city and stood in front of the refineries then went to a fine hotel.  It was at the hotel that Alyssa lost her phone which was super sad.  There were many laughs between snowflakes and I thank Chris for being strong and sure when assisting with lighting.

Light, dancing, and love {Cincinnati skyline photography}

This stylish couple struck me as being fierce, funny, and smart. They seem very aware that a winning attitude changes the way time moves for them. Justin seems head over heels in love with Lynncoyia and realizes they belong together.  A promise ring now sits on her finger as they plan to make their love equal family…♥…the wedding part of their story.  When shooting with them  I noticed the unembellished fact that Justin swoons for Lynncoyia.  A gentleman who makes sure she is happy, looks out for her, gives her a hand when she needs it.  Henry David Thoreau one said “City life is millions of people being lonesome together” but this couple proves him wrong…you just have to find your people to care. Lynncoyia gets that special twinkle in her eyes when she looks at Justin and I was lucky to catch that in camera when I was invited to shoot the following love story for them.
