Amanda and Billy Wilmington, OH wedding

We were expecting a large Summer barn wedding but close friends and family were called to an intimate Winter celebration.  The festivities took place at a small Italian restaurant.  Amanda and Billy were all coupled up and happy and in love. As far as love stories go, the only thing better than the magic of a fairy tale romance is the happiness that comes with real life forever and always love. We were there to see the start of this incredible union of two special people who choose to live life together.

Ashley and Jon Engaged { Wilmington, OH wedding photographer }

I first met Ashley when I took family photographs for her Dad and she was one of the kids.  I knew we would be instant friends, we found things to laugh about right away.  When she contacted me to discuss her wedding, I was honored that she wanted to allow me in. It means the world to me to be trusted to be the one there when the tears start to fall, to being asked to fix the dress or the one turned to to give advice on how the day should go, to being a witnesses & document the start of this chapter of their life together.  What an honor and a gift that is and I am looking forward to experiencing their happy moments and unbelievable memories. Not only did I get to meet them in Ann Arbor for these beautiful shots but Ashley and I were able to coordinate it so that her dream came true (pics in the snow!) but I had a chance to giggle with her fiance who told me right away that ‘he does not smile in photos’.  Well, I proved him wrong and he could not contain his happy when looking at his future bride.  I really have enjoyed getting to know these guys and before we know it…they will be MARRIED!

For them, forever began on day one.

Nic & Joe’s amazing wedding { Flint, Michigan Wedding Photography }

While her maids were loop, loop, looping the back of her dress, Nic told me about him.  She thought about the 7 years they have worked at a hospital together, seeing each other through the worst of traumas.  They had seen the worst & the best times and still found time to laugh.  There was so much laughter still yet to be had on that wedding day…the years {together} & the years ahead.  Nic said that when she thinks about all of the best things that have happened in her life…her best friend…the dreams she wants… she thinks about Joe.

Joe’s men had the advantage of a fun rec-room at the gorgeous First Presbyterian Church of Flint.  While waiting Joe was playing pool and chatting with his groomsmen. We took a walk around the grounds around the castle-like building.

The pipe organ was the silver that caught the light of the stained glass windows. The light played and all of their favorite people were there.   The love on their faces lit up the church and the vows they promised were unique while lovely.

The Bride and Groom laughed all the way down the isle and took the time to greet each guest {together}.  When the vows were promised and the party was over what remained was love.

May they love overflow for them always as it did today…like all of the days so far combined.

The dress was white with pearls and around her neck were sparkly rhinestones that flashed with the new diamonds on her finger. From the moment that she saw the dress, she knew that it was everything that she wanted and needed. She looked and felt lovely.  Everyone around her already knew that hers was the kind of beauty that was its own adornment and this Bride was radiant. The sparkle in her eyes… glowed …whenever she was around Zach was fueled by young love that never goes out of style. And until she walked down the isle, the only thing missing was him.

The day was bright white and blue, as if the cooler weather had been invited for the occasion to give the couple a break from the end of summer heat. From the moment that he saw her, he knew that she was everything that he wanted and needed. And so much more.   Zach already knew…it was because she was the kind of girl who could change your whole world quietly without you even noticing. The kind of love that takes over when you aren’t even aware. Until you finally realize…. the only thing ever missing was her.

Married: Zach and Tamika
They were surrounded by their closest friends and family.  They stood in front of the church with the minister who had been there to Baptize Tamika when she was a baby.  The same kind man who had preached sermons to her and her family every Sunday.  They promised a lifetime of soft spoken memories together…. a love that doesn’t need to be fancy. Just forever.  It is everything that they wanted and needed.
Zach and Tamika were married on a perfect Ohio Summer day.  We loved being there with you as you start this life together….you trusted us to capture your moments and it was an honor.  My hope is that you will love like this always….quietly, fearlessly and without question.  Together.
